Cousin Sue was born Susanna Lou Potter to George Benjamin & Charlotte (Bradbury) Potter on April 19, 1928 in Arcadia, Kansas. She married Harold Young on January 14, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they had four daughters and were blessed with several grandchildren before she passed away on August 4, 2009 in Independence, Missouri.
This is the beauty of meeting cousins. It doesn't matter if you're first cousins or fifth cousins, you just know that you're tied together by DNA, by the family tree, or by the hand of whatever deity that you choose to believe in. There is a connection that can not be denied. I mourn for the loss of someone that I never got the chance to meet. I celebrate that she was born because she is and was family. Her daughters are my cousins and now my friends. Her life has touched mine and I am thankful.
Happy Birthday, Cousin.
